This position supports Seed Savers Exchange through the work of onsite seed production of open-pollinated, heirloom varieties. With a focus on assisting with field preparations, transplanting, field maintenance, orchard work, seed harvesting, and seed processing. This year-round position also includes time in the greenhouse, as well as seed packaging, and supporting with order fulfillment duties in the winter months.

The Outreach Specialist is expected to utilize excellent collaboration, problem solving, prioritization, and communication skills to work closely with farmers, technical advisors, and colleagues to develop and implement collaborative on-farm research and other outreach activities to increase adoption and implementation of soil fertility practices on Wisconsin farms.

The St. Paul Dairy Unit Manager reports directly to the Dairy Faculty Manager and works closely with the Dairy Unit Faculty Management Team. This position is responsible for overseeing animal care, dairy production, facility operations, and personnel management in support of the Department’s teaching, research, and extension missions.

This role uses storytelling, photography, video, and community interaction to grow awareness, deepen audience engagement, support revenue goals, and connect more people to seed saving, gardening, and the mission of Seed Savers Exchange.
