We're looking for an enthusiastic nature lover to support our Education Coordinator in delivering school field trips, summer camps and quarterly evening workshops at our hospital-based farm. This is a very part-time position with a variable schedule; up to 300 hours available in 2024. Pay range $15-18/hour. Experience with outdoor/farm programming preferred.

Gwenyn Hill Farm is a diverse 430-acre regenerative organic farm situated in the rolling hills of Kettle Moraine in Southeast Wisconsin. Gwenyn Hill Farm's General Manager oversees daily operations at the farm and serves an active role in identifying long-range goals and strategic direction for the business. The General Manager brings entrepreneurial creativity and passion to Gwenyn Hill Farm's mission.

Encourage the transition to organic farming through outreach and educational activities; Coordinate community events, statewide training opportunities and create educational materials; Network with staff and faculty on campus and partners within the public and private sector to provide the farming community with the expertise needed to overcome barriers to transitioning to organic farming; Educate the public about the benefits of organic farming; additional duties as needed.

The SH/LA organizer will build communities, respond to emerging needs and center voices from underrepresented stakeholders. The SH/LALL organizer builds networks of small to mid-sized crop farmers, landowners, and partners in the region to facilitate equitable land access for beginning and emerging farmers. This includes building community through planning and hosting on-farm events and working with farmer-leaders to advocate for needed changes to policy and institutions.

The Land Stewardship Project’s Communications Specialist will collaboratively develop and execute engaging print and digital content, digital organizing tactics, and campaign level communications plans for both the Land Stewardship Project (LSP) and its 501(c)4 political action organization, the Land Stewardship Action Fund (LSAF).

This paid seasonal position is for someone who is interested in assisting all aspects of the Lake Country Land School vegetable gardens. This will include planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetables and flowers. Work includes daily animal care, trail work, cooking shared meals, and supporting activities with students and families during summer programming, mowing, tilling, and cultivating the fields. Work period is Monday-Friday, 30-40 hours per week, June 1st to August 31st.

This position will work closely with the 20,000+ seed varieties in SSE’s seedbank to ensure they are stored and organized in a manner that promotes long term seed health and distribution to the public. This position primarily oversees the packaging of seed entering the seed bank, and distributions of seed being requested by the public. They will work closely with the Seed Bank Germination Technician to perform all seed lab duties, which fluctuate on a yearly cycle.

Working under the guidance of the Executive Director and in coordination with the Field Operations team, the Field Operations Technician will be involved in all stages of field and garden operations and seed production activities. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to tractor work, compost management, garden and field preparation, cover cropping, IPM, and equipment maintenance.

Wanda farm is a new first generation farm with a big vision to grow and feed 10,000 families a healthier meal by 2030. We currently produce grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, pork, and eggs on our grass-based regenerative farm. We are seeking to hire a motivated individual to be the lead manager on our farm in all aspects concerning the production of the livestock from start to harvest time. This is a long term position with potential for growth as our farm expands.

At its heart, this is a regenerative farming apprenticeship program. The main aspects of work for apprentices will focus on our intensive regenerative produce production and will also entail significant involvement in our rotational, pasture, and woodland-based livestock systems. We are currently seeking an Executive Director for overall program management, compliance, staff development,
agency finances, and strategic planning.

SSE’s Education and Engagement Manager is a highly collaborative position that works closely with all SSE departments and works to build relationships and community by collaborating with individuals and organizations in the larger seed community. Education and Engagement projects and initiatives include all SSE educational events (conferences, tours, and workshops), educational farm and garden signage, the Community Seed Network and Speaker’s Bureau.

We at Foxtail believe in the power of our natural world and strive to steward natural systems whenever possible. We do not use chemicals, but instead choose to build the soil web to fight pests of all kinds. No/minimal till focuses on farming at a scale based on human power. We feel striving to farm at this capacity is not only a better scale for the environment, but for all of us on the farm. A Farm and Wilderness counselor will work on a team to lead groups of campers in 8th-10th grade. F&W is a 5 or 12 day overnight summer program. Campers will do animal chores, harvesting organic produce from our fields for a farm to fork program, go climbing on our high ropes course, and complete an overnight backpacking trip up Black Mountain. Our counselors in the F&W program are compassionate and willing to be mentors to our young folks as they navigate their middle and high school years.
