Sacred Blossom Farm is hiring a full-time farmer to join our small, hands-on team in Gilmanton, WI. You'll be involved in all aspects of farm production, from planting and harvesting to equipment maintenance and processing. We seek someone with farming or mechanical skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. This is a long-term opportunity with potential for profit-sharing.

Seed Savers Exchange is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to conserve and promote America’s culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for current and future generations by collecting, growing, and sharing heirloom seeds and plants. Working under the Seed Inventory Coordinator, the Seed Packing Machine Operator will be directly responsible for coordinating day to day operations of the seed packing machine and assisting in the Seed House as directed.

We raise vegetables for 80 CSA members who all pick up on the farm through our free-choice, market-style CSA from June-December. We rotationally graze beef cattle and seven dairy cows, which we milk for our on-farm Grade A Dairy plant. Most of the meat, milk, yogurt and ice cream we produce are sold through our CSA year round.

As a field crew member you will focus most of your time and energy on tasks related to growing the crops. This work includes, but is not limited to: bed prep, planting, seeding, transplanting, weeding/cultivation, pruning, trellising, pest management, some harvest, compost application (involves use of the tractor and skid loader), flail mowing and record keeping.

As a part-time harvest crew member, you will participate mainly in harvest-related work. Tasks include but are not limited to: harvesting, washing & packing, and some amount of planting. You will spend about half of your day focusing on harvesting (both in the field and in hoop houses) and the other half on washing/packing. This is a great job for people who really want to be outdoors, who enjoy the challenge of physical work, and who don’t mind getting their hands dirty.

The team at Green Earth Harvest is looking for full time seasonal farm crew members who are available from April through October at McDonald Farm, headquarters of The Conservation Foundation and are located in Naperville IL. Flower Farm Crew members will primarily be involved in day-to-day operations of our specialty cut flower farm. Tasks include greenhouse production, bed preparation, high tunnel management, seeding and transplanting, weeding, trellising, mulching, harvesting, post-harvest bunching and bouquet making, and vending at the farmers markets we host and attend. The Production Manager is the lead farmer reporting to the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors and is an intensive field farming position for a full-production urban farm using organic farming methods. The Production Manager is primarily responsible for directing and managing farm staff for the cultivation, maintenance, harvest, and operation of the 2.5-acre Howard Street Farm, farmers markets, and managing a 100-person CSA.

Staff farmers report to the production manager and assist in the cultivation, maintenance, harvest, and operation of the Howard Street Farm by implementing the crop plan and facilitating its smooth operation. This position may be called upon to assist with The Talking Farm’s offsite educational gardens and farmers’ markets in the Skokie and Northern Chicago areas. Under the direction of the Farm Team, Production Interns will learn about soil preparation, crop care, harvest, and marketing of produce as they support the day-to-day operations of our 2.5-acre farm campus in the heart of Skokie.

Interns are expected to work between 10-20 hours per week for one of three seasonal rounds of our 8-12 week program (Spring, Summer, or Fall). College credit an option.

The Farm Education Intern will work closely with our Education and Programming Coordinator to assist in providing garden enrichment activities to a wide array of program participants, ranging from preschoolers to adults. The Farm Education Intern will also help out with volunteer days at Howard Street Farm as needed.

We seek a Cultivation and Irrigation Lead for our not-for-profit community vegetable farm. This position would work under leadership of the Farm Manager and work closely with the rest of the leadership team to help deliver high quality produce to our many different customers and food security partners. This role focuses on the management of irrigation systems as well as the management of weeds, including the use of cultivation tractors.

This role would focus on leading the harvest efforts of a wide range of vegetable crops with our seasonal crew and be involved in other facets of the farm operation as time allows.

The Herb Farm Manager will oversee and execute our medicinal and culinary herb production. We grow 30 varieties of medicinal herbs and 40 varieties of culinary herbs organically on approximately 1.5 acres. Our herbs are grown for our own value-added herbal apothecary products, dried for bulk sales, and sold fresh at our farmers market and farm store as well as local restaurants. Job tasks include greenhouse production, bed preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, bunching, & drying of herbs.

This position is great if you’ve never been a vegetable farmer before but are curious about what it is like. Part-time main season folks assist with the harvest of vegetables each week and also get their hands dirty planting and weeding. No prior farming experience needed to apply.

This position is great for someone who is wanting to experience what a full season of vegetable growing is like both mentally and physically. The full-time main season position assists in a variety of tasks; proper harvest/washing of vegetables, learning transplanting techniques, IPM best practices, no-till soil building methods, perennial tree and shrub maintenance, high tunnel growing, season extension and what the day-to-day life on the farm is like. 1 year of vegetable farming preferred.

The Field Manager is the team lead throughout the day. When tasks need to be divided, the field manager may become the leader of a small group or solo managing the task start to finish. Field Managers also assist with routine farm chores, putting together wholesale orders, maintaining record keeping and generally stepping into a leadership position on the farm. 2 years farming experience preferred, 1 year vegetable farming experience required.

Seed Savers Exchange is a non-profit organization based in Decorah, Iowa focused on conserving and promoting America's culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop legacy for present and future generations. This position supports Seed Savers Exchange through the work of onsite seed productions of open-pollinated, heirloom varieties. This position focuses on assisting with field preparations, transplanting, field maintenance, seed harvesting, seed processing, etc.

10th Street Farm is a four-season vegetable farm located in Afton, MN, just outside the Twin Cities. We focus on no-till, human-scale, intensive vegetable production, utilizing moveable high tunnels, paperpot transplanters, and other sustainable methods. Crew members participate in all aspects of vegetable production, including seeding, planting, cultivating, harvesting, washing, packing, and farm market display setup.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our crop management team. This person would spend the 2025 season working in many areas of the farm to get to know our systems, our team, and the skills to move forward with more management and leadership responsibilities in subsequent seasons. Crop managers help to create a detailed production plan and then implement the plan, collect data, analyze outcomes and work to improve production year on year.

This position will involve harvesting, planting, weeding and washing veggies and herbs of all shapes and sizes at our organic farm. This position is the most versatile on the farm and will be enlisted to complete other field tasks like laying landscape fabric, pounding posts, simple repairs, trellising tomatoes and much much more. Full time or part time positions available April/May through September/October.

The Wash/Pack Lead is responsible for day-to-day washing and packing of veggies and herbs. This entails using our existing farm systems to wash our produce and pack them to order while keeping detailed wash and pack logs. In addition, this position will be responsible for leading other farm crew that are assigned to the pack shed for the day to include training, assigning tasks and providing feedback.
This is a full time position April through October, with the potential to extend into November.

The Etzel Sugar Grove Farm Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operations at Etzel Sugar Grove Farm. The Farm Coordinator will oversee the strategy and implementation of all agriculture operations, including but not limited to, beekeeping (training to be provided, if needed), crop production and distribution, farm and vehicle upkeep and maintenance, and agriculture-based education. Etzel Sugar Grove Farm Coordinator is accountable for safe and efficient farm operations.

Position: LTE (20-30 hrs/week), ending Sept 30, 2025, (with the goal of FTE extension, including leadership potential and competitive benefits)
Hours: Flexible hours within the working week of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, occasional evenings and weekends.

Interns will develop a well-rounded foundation in the best practices of vegetable crop production from an established farm that has been refining its systems over decades. Formal classes and field trips are offered throughout the season, but individuals who have been the most successful in this program have been self-motivated in learning and absorbing through day-to-day field work. Curiosity is encouraged.

The Equipment Operator will spend a good amount of time in the tractor seat operating equipment safely and effectively in support of production and harvest activities. Our ideal candidate has prior farming experience on a diverse vegetable farm, including equipment operation and maintenance. When not driving tractor, the Equipment Operator will play a role in general production tasks as well as harvest and pack shed work.
