Dig in with On-Farm Learning and Trainings
Join us every growing season for on-farm Marbleseed Field Days hosted by regenerative and organic farmers across the Upper Midwest who are using innovative practices and feeding their communities. From small urban farms and midscale silvopasture operations to larger scale row crops, we aim to offer field days for every type of farm. Marbleseed's Trainings connect farmers with the tools they need for a thriving farm business, supporting the growth of organic acreage, generating more revenue for small-scale farmers, and mitigating the impacts of climate change with farming practices that value land stewardship and whole ecosystem health.

Canceled: Marbleseed in the Field: A Diversified Organic Showcase at Gwenyn Hill Farm
We are disappointed to share that the Diversified Organic Showcase at Gwenyn Hill Farm scheduled for September 19 has been canceled. This was a new and ambitious event that Marbleseed envisioned as a way for our community to gather during the height of growing season. We suspect the timing may have proven too tricky for many, as we simply did not receive enough registrations to allow us to produce the top-notch event we envisioned. We look forward to imagining future collaborations with Gwenyn Hill Farm. Registrants will receive full refunds.
Farmer of the Year Field Day
Thursday, October 8
Can bird habitat and prairie complement an operating farm? You betcha! Join us for an engaging day on Steve and Beth Albert's Praire Bluff Farm. The Alberts, who are Marbleseed's 2026 Farmers of the Year, are showcasing their organically managed egg layer farm. With their business, Prairie Bluff Farm, the Alberts raise about 1,500 chickens, which spend most of their time in the mobile coops designed by Steve. Their customer base includes the greater Madison areas.
They are joined by Andy Paulios, Natural Resource Manager with Dane County Land & Water Resources Department. Andy will lead a guided walk to share how the Alberts have worked with the neighboring county park to enhance bird habitat. Agronomists and conservationists will be on site to help with discussion and production curiosities. Light locally sourced snacks will be served.

- Wear clean clothes that have not been worn around other livestock.
- Upon request of the host or staff during the field day, you may be asked to wear disposable plastic boot covers (provided by Marbleseed) over your shoes.
