Mandaamin Institute Field Day - Clyde Community Center

*Meet at Community Center Carpool to Gary's Field Promptly at 1:10pm, after we will return to Community Center for discussions/refreshments

We will visit Gary Zimmer's 34 acre field where he is growing Mandaamin Institute's nitrogen efficient, high nutritional dense hybrid corn. Afterwards there will be snacks and information sharing/discussion with Walter Goldstein, corn breeder and director of the Institute. The Mandaamin varieties partner with super colonies of bacteria and fungi inside and outside of the plant body. This helps them to obtain more nutrients (methionine, lysine, minerals), grow strongly, produce nutrient dense bodies and grain, and control weeds. We will discuss what we have learned and what this means for farmers, consumers, and animals, especially poultry and dairy.
