Join us for a timely conversation with Sharing Our Roots focused on farmer safety, community care, and resilience under increasing ICE threats. In this lunch and learn, the organization's Executive Director, Derek Meyers, will share firsthand experiences supporting farmers and gardeners navigating fear, uncertainty, and heightened enforcement pressures, while reflecting on the realities facing immigrant and historically targeted communities within local food systems.

Grounded in relationship-building, the discussion will explore how Sharing Our Roots has collaborated to build responsive networks of care. From resource-sharing to long-term trust-building strategies, participants will hear how support systems have evolved as community needs, political conditions, and safety concerns continue to shift.

This conversation will offer space to reflect on what meaningful collective protection can look like in practice within agricultural communities. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how collaborative care models can strengthen resilience, protect vulnerable workers, and foster more connected, response communities in moments of crisis and change.
