Local Meat Supply Chain Tour

Local meat supply chains are receiving increasing attention as federal and state funding is increasing for purchasing of local food, including meats, by schools and other entities; and for expansion of meat and poultry processing and storage capacity. Come to Little Falls on September 26 to see both the farmer and buyer side of a local meat supply chain. We will tour Sprout’s facilities and learn about their receiving, cold storage, sales, and shipping processes for local meat. Then after lunch on your own in Little Falls, we’ll visit Brenda Rudolph’s farm, Raising a Farmer, to see how a farmer makes wholesale meat sales work.
